1. Who this page is for
These instructions apply to anyone whose personal data is processed by Byron O'Connor Information Technology ("we", "us") — including users of this website, consultancy clients, and people who interact with an AI assistant or messaging service that we operate on behalf of a business client (for example, messaging a business's WhatsApp number that is answered by our software).
Our full data practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
2. What data we process
Depending on how you interacted with us, we may process:
- your name, phone number or social/messaging account identifier, and display name;
- the content of messages you sent or received through an AI assistant operated for a business;
- appointment, booking, and service history discussed with that business;
- enquiries you submitted through this website, and email correspondence with us;
- basic technical logs (such as message delivery records) needed for security and reliability.
3. How to request deletion
Send an email to Byronoc123@gmail.com with the subject line "Data deletion request" and include:
- the name the business knows you by;
- the phone number or account you used to message the business (or the email address you used to contact us);
- the name of the business or website involved;
- optionally, the approximate dates of your interactions.
You do not need to explain your reasons, and there is no charge. If you cannot email, you can also make the request by messaging the business directly and asking them to forward it to us.
4. What happens after your request
- We acknowledge your request within 5 working days.
- We verify your identity using the details you provide (matching them against the data we hold) so we do not delete someone else's data at a stranger's request.
- We delete your personal data within 30 days of verification and send you written confirmation of what was deleted.
- If part of your request is refused (see section 5), we explain exactly what is retained, why, and for how long.
5. What we may keep and why
Sometimes the law or legitimate operational needs require us to keep minimal records even after a deletion request:
- records we must keep to comply with legal obligations (for example, tax or accounting records), kept only for the legally required period;
- minimal security and audit logs, pseudonymised where possible, kept to protect the services and other users;
- records of the deletion request itself, so we can demonstrate we honoured it.
Anything retained is never used for marketing or profiling, and is deleted or anonymised when the reason for keeping it ends.
6. Requests from business clients (account cancellation)
Business clients who end their subscription can request full deletion of their workspace data — business information, knowledge-base content, customer records, and conversation history. We delete or return this data within 90 days of the end of the engagement, unless law requires longer retention, and confirm completion in writing.
If you are an end user whose data sits inside a business client's workspace, the fastest route is either the email request in section 3 or asking the business directly — whichever you prefer, we coordinate with the business to action your request.
